Indonesia-US Tariff Talks Spur Indonesia Policy Shifts

Indonesian authorities and U.S. officials are actively engaging to resolve escalating tariff conflicts amid pressure from U.S. tariff policies. In response to these measures, Indonesia is set to form a deregulation task force to explore new incentives for U.S. companies, aiming to improve its business climate. Concurrently, a U.S. delegation has responded positively, agreeing to initiate technical-level negotiations with the Indonesian government to settle the tariff issues within a defined timeframe. This coordinated diplomatic effort seeks to stabilize bilateral trade relations and ease economic tensions.
A deregulation task force will be formed to assess licenses and incentives that could boost Indonesia's business climate.
The US delegation responded positively and agreed to initiate technical-level negotiations.
